Scene 1:

(hallway, Greg and Sam lounging against lockers, before school, discussing nerds)

Greg: Hey, freak, come over here. (beckoning to Mark)

Sam: Yeah, come over here Mark.

Greg: Sam (sighing) his name is freak or loser.

Mark: Uhhhhhhhhhh (sighing like bored)

Greg: Get you butt over here and quit whining you loser.

Sam: Yeah, get over here dumbo! (trips over nothing)

Mark: (under his breathe) I’m obviously smarter than you.

Greg: (slams Mark against locker) What’d you say freak?!?!?

Mark: I said nothing loser.

Sam: (stands up and punches Mark) Whad ya say to my friend nerd?

Mark: I said for every action there is an opposite but equal reaction (Hits Sam and ducks under Greg and takes off down the hallway-Abe walks in)

Abe: He is right, for every word of bitterness you throw at him, he will throw twice as much back at you. The Golden Rule clearly states to treat people the way you want to be treated.

Sam: I thought it was to always say please and thank you? (looking puzzled)

Curtain closes

Scene 2: (Mr. Capulet and Peter are trying to figure out a way to get Juliet to love Peter)

Peter: But sir, if we just plain out ask her to love me, she will say no and hate me for the rest of my life.

Mr. Capulet: Well, kid, can you come up with any other ideas, other than forcing her to love you.

Peter: Well, we could start with you inviting me over for dinner.

Mr. Capulet: I’m not giving you more food Peter!

Peter: Well, you see sir you could hire me as your assistant and then I will be around Juliet a lot.

Mr. Capulet (a weary sigh): Goodness boy, I don’t think I have time for an assistant. What with this new case on the roll. I have a smashing idea; you and Juliet will clean out the garage together! It should take weeks to finish!

Peter: (hesitant) Well you, um, see sir, well I um, I um-

Mr. Capulet: Spit it out boy!

Peter (rushed and nervous): Um, cleaning out the garage isn’t the most romantic thing to do.

Mr. Capulet: Of course it’s romantic, plus I need someone to clean out my garage! (Mr. Capulet exits, Juliet enters)

Juliet (confused and scared): Peter? What are you doing in my house? And what were you and father talking about earlier?

Peter: Well, you see, I need a job, so he is having you and I work together over spring break at cleaning his six-car garage. (Juliet’s face falls into a dismal frown)

Juliet: Um, you and I together for all of spring break for everyday? Well, um, I have some, um, things I need to do with my friends. I apologize but this is my choice and my house.

Peter (anxious): Um, your dad didn’t say you had a choice.
