Authors note:  This piece is definitely not one of my best pieces.  I struggled throughout the writing process to keep one topic that I thoroughly explained.

In their daily lives, people are surrounded by Christians; those who wish not to succumb to the temptation of Satan.  Jesus died on the cross so they would not endure the temptation he received from the devil or the Master Fowler received from the dove in the short story The Hundredth Dove.  The bible states "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."   People are tempted everyday by Satan with the gift of fame, fortune, or beauty but it is by love that we only are truly experiencing this gift of live.

God made humans to be imperfect, and they are; everybody has a fault in their looks and their actions.  The human nature is imperfection whether it is love or temptation.  When humans are tempted by fame and fortune our human nature is to feel the need for it, yet when it fades we are left with nothing but desire for something else.  Temptation often leaves new desires, but love is everlasting.  Love is the imperfect human's best weapon against evil.

Our imperfections as humans make us even more vulnerable to the temptation of Satan.  People want what they do not have and they have what they do not want.  When the Master fowler is tempted by the dove, he is tempted by things that anybody imperfect human could want.  Jesus is offered an entire kingdom when he is tempted by the Devil.  Both refused to be tempted because their need was not that of possessions and their love was too strong.

The bible states "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him and he helps me."  God is our strength who keeps us from temptation of the Devil if we trust in him and worship him.  The fowler's trust and love in his king saves gives him strength to refuse the temptation from the dove. In this way love is truly the greatest gift life can give.
